BRIEF: Walmart leaks own Black Friday ads

Nov 10, 2011 (Tulsa World - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Mega-retailer Walmart released its Black Friday advertisements online two weeks ahead of tradition, and the company is pushing the shopping holiday into Thursday this year.

The store will start sales at 10 pm. on Thanksgiving Thursday, followed by a rolling set of sales at midnight and later.

"Our customers told us they would rather stay up late to shop than get up early, so we're going to hold special events on Thanksgiving and Black Friday," said Duncan Mac Naughton, chief merchandising officer, Walmart U.S. in a statement.

The circular, which doesn't highlight product details, is available via Facebook and Walmart's website.

Walmart follows other retailers such as Toys R Us that have opened at midnight and earlier in previous years.

The company released the 29-page circular online Thursday, advertising a $248 laptop, a 32-inch flat screen television for $188 and a host of other deals on electronics, CDs and DVDs, toys, apparel, video games and house wares.
