(Gazette, The (CO) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) - The Visiting Nurse Association, which provides hospice, home care and wellness services throughout Colorado, announced that Monique B. Roth has joined the organization as the director of business development. In this role, Roth has responsibilities for assessing the agency's position in the marketplace, planning for future growth and enhancing VNA's mission and service model in the Colorado community. Before joining VNA, Roth worked for Humana as director of account management and proposals. She has worked in the health insurance industry for more than 17 years with companies such as UnitedHealthcare, Aetna and PacifiCare.



- Chulick & Kozleski, a certified public accounting firm with offices in Woodland Park and Colorado Springs, has expanded its services to include wealth management. Todd S. Smith has been hired as director of wealth management. Smith is a certified financial planner with 13 years of experience providing wealth management services.

- The Tri-Lakes Chamber and Visitor's Center announced the selection of Terri Hayes as its new executive director. Hayes has been interim director for the past three months and was chosen after an extensive search. She is a resident of Black Forest and has been a member of the Tri-Lakes Chamber for three years.


- Ken Williams has been hired as director of trade show sales for The Broadmoor hotel and resort in Colorado Springs. Williams' focus will be to attract large meetings that can utilize the hotel's 185,000 square feet of meeting space. Williams, who has a degree in economics from the University of Colorado, has more than 20 years of experience in the meetings industry and most recently was sales and marketing director for a Denver-based international trade center. He's also held membership and leadership positions in several industry organizations.

- Rocky Mountain PBS has named Kelsey Cornelius as development account executive, a new position focusing on corporate underwriting, grants and membership development in southern Colorado. Cornelius joins Rocky Mountain PBS from FOX21 and CW57. She has a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from the University of Vermont and is near completion of her MBA from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She served as a volunteer in the Peace Corps in Cameroon from 2005 to 2007.

- Stephen Johanns, administrator for the Infectious Disease Specialists medical practice in Colorado Springs, has received the Medical Manager of the Year Award from the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management. The association is a national group that promotes the professional development and education of health care administrators. Johanns is a member of the association's National Advisory Board and an executive committee member of its Pikes Peak chapter.

- INTECON, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business with headquarters in Colorado Springs, recently was awarded Raytheon Network Centric Systems' three-star excellence award for suppliers. INTECON is in the top 1 percent of 4,500 Raytheon subcontractors. INTECON provides telecommunications, information technology, maintenance and operations, and engineering services to government and commercial customers; the company has offices in the United States, Iraq and Afghanistan.

- Destination Services Corp, a destination management firm, has expanded its Colorado Springs team with Kate Fox as sales/account manager. Fox is a graduate of the University of San Diego with a bachelor degree in psychology and has a background in marketing. Most recently, she was employed with Central Bancorp as a marketing coordinator.

-Stockman Kast Ryan + Co. announced the promotion of Kimberly Paetsch to senior bookkeeper. She has been with the firm for more than five years. In addition to standard bookkeeping responsibilities, Paetsch will consult and review client accounts in her new role.

- The Denver Business Journal and partner NABCAP recently selected The Colvert/Harvey Group (Hank Colvert, Brad Harvey, Rob Forest and Brian Colvert) as one of the top wealth advisers in the state of Colorado for 2011. Only four advisers from Colorado Springs received this honor.

- Bob Boehm and Kelly Larson of Glass Doctor of Colorado Springs were honored with a Personal Achievement Award during The Dwyer Group's 2011 Reunion. The Personal Achievement Award is given to owners who attain outstanding achievement in sales, manpower growth, franchise development or personal growth during the year.

- Debra Stirling, DVM, has joined Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs. Stirling graduated from Colorado State University with her doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2006 and has practiced at a couple of veterinary hospitals in Colorado Springs. Stirling is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Colorado Veterinary Medical Association, Colorado Springs Area Veterinary Society, El Paso County Animal Response Team and Colorado Emergency Management Program. She was president of the Colorado Springs Area Veterinary Society for two years and president elect of the society for one year.

- Sullivan & Associates has been included in the National Association of Board Certified Advisory Practices' Premier Advisor list, published by the Denver Business Journal. The list recognizes advisory practices in Colorado that represent the best in quality wealth management.

- Eugene "Butch" Gunn, broker associate, has joined Renaissance Real Estate Group. A licensed Realtor since 2005, Gunn specializes in residential real estate.

- Ed's Gym, a private athletic and fitness training facility, has opened its first local location at 2833 N. El Paso St., Unit 120. The private, member-only, training facility trains athletes ages 12 years and older.

- Huntsville, Ala.-based Quantum Research International, which has a presence in Colorado Springs, has been awarded a place on the 2011 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing private businesses in the nation. It marks the fourth time Quantum has appeared on the list, published by Inc. Magazine. Quantum provides operational, engineering, and systems integration support to national security customers.

- Destination Services Corp, a destination management firm specializing in corporate meetings, special events and activity and ground logistics, has hired Kelsey Nolan as its newest account manager. Based in DSC's Colorado Springs office, Nolan will be charged with creating and managing corporate group events with local vendor partners and the Broadmoor hotel. A Colorado Springs native, Nolan earned her bachelors degree in art history and economics from Scripps College in Claremont, Calif. Before joining DSC, Nolan worked in the conference services department at The Broadmoor.

- Damian J. Guerin has been named vice president for human resources of Aleut Management Services. Guerin has provided HR solutions within a variety of industries including civil engineering, Fortune 100 defense contracting, software and services, and manufacturing. He has earned the designation of Senior Professional in Human Resources from the Human Resources Certification Institute and is pursuing the Certified Compensation Professional from WorldatWork, a nonprofit organization focused on global human resources issues. Guerin served on the board of the Rocky Mountain Compensation Association for many years, including as president.

-Stockman Kast Ryan + Co. announced the promotion of Buddy Newton to senior tax consultant. Newton graduated with a bachelor of science in accounting from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and has been with SKR + Co. for three years. He is a member of the Chamber Rising Professionals and a reserve deputy for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
