Mitel releases Mitel Communications Director 5.0 softwareOct 26, 2011 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Mitel, a provider of unified communications and collaboration software solutions, has released Mitel Communications Director 5.0 software. Mitel Communications Director (MCD) is the foundation of Mitel's Freedom architecture, giving organizations the ability to access an advanced set of communications applications through a single, cloud-ready software stream that can be deployed on industry standard servers, including virtualized server environments. MCD 5.0 incorporates new features optimized for medium-to-large sized enterprises and industries such as hospitality including the ability to scale Virtual MCD (vMCD) so a single instance will support up to 2,500 users; a streamlined process for installing and commissioning systems, and simplified ongoing administration of the solution with features such as synchronized Active Directory integration; support for large-scale hospitality properties, with a centralized deployment model that delivers scale and high availability to large-scale analog environments. It also has the option to deploy MCD on an industry-standard server with components, including processors, power supplies, and fans. "It's always nice to know that you're being listened to and Mitel has demonstrated they are a strong partner by incorporating our feedback into their product development," said Frank Ball, telecom coordinator at Okanagan College. "With this latest version of MCD, our day-to-day management has been simplified dramatically. In addition, the flexibility of their Freedom architecture gives us the ability to leverage our investment as we evolve our IT delivery strategy." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
