i2 introduces new mobile software

Oct 25, 2011 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- i2, an IBM company, has announced COPLINK Mobile Plus, a new mobile software. This software reportedly helps law enforcement officers access critical intelligence faster to solve cases.

With the introduction of COPLINK Mobile Plus, i2 brings the most widely used tactical lead generation capability to iPads, iPhones and Android devices.

Law enforcement and public safety agencies have increasingly invested funds in mobile technologies that can be deployed in the field, including widespread adoption of mobile devices. This approach minimizes time spent at a central office or police station, resulting in more time providing public safety services directly to the public, the company said.

With COPLINK Mobile Plus, law enforcement officers will achieve better situational awareness with automated geospatial searches of recent events because they will now have the ability to search state and local criminal records from multiple jurisdictions' databases from iPads, iPhones or Android devices, the company added.

"Law enforcement agencies across the country are adopting new mobile technologies to equip their officers with the tools to perform more day-to-day work in the field," said Robert Griffin, i2 CEO. "With COPLINK software, law enforcement can now be untethered from the office and use these mobile devices to securely search thousands of records from multiple databases and across multiple geographies." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
