Sequans partners with Fujitsu Semiconductor on LTE technology

Oct 20, 2011 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- 4G chipmaker Sequans Communications SA (NYSE:SQNS) has entered into a technology and marketing collaboration with Fujitsu Semiconductor Limited, the company announced today.

The purpose of the partnership is to provide customers with a comprehensive, high-performance LTE product offering that combines Fujitsu Semiconductor's multimode 2G/3G/LTE RF solution with Sequans' next generation LTE baseband solutions.

Fujitsu Semiconductor's RF transceiver supports all major global bands and modes, including LTE bands, and will be pre-integrated with Sequans' LTE chips. The combined solution includes Fujitsu Semiconductor's MB86L12A 2G/3G/LTE RF CMOS transceiver and Sequans' SQN3110 and SQN3120 baseband chips.

Reference designs for a wide range of LTE-enabled devices based on the combined Sequans/Fujitsu Semiconductor LTE solution, including smartphones, tablets, mobile hotspots and embedded modules, are expected to be available from Sequans later in the year.
