Gigamon Selected as VMware Elite Technology Alliance PartnerOct 19, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Gigamon, a provider of Traffic Visibility Networking solutions, announced it has been selected as a VMware Elite Technology Alliance Partner (TAP). According to a release, the TAP program enables technology vendors to integrate their products with VMware virtualization software and deliver joint solutions to customers around the world. "We are pleased to welcome Gigamon as the newest member of the VMware Elite TAP program," said Sheryl Sage, Director, Alliance Programs, VMware. "The VMware TAP program offers companies like Gigamon the tools and resources they need to develop high-value solutions that meet the needs of our mutual customers." With the latest release of the VMware virtualization platform, the Company said owners of virtualized data centers are now able to gain pervasive visibility into their data using Gigamon's patented Visibility Fabric technology. Prior to this combination being available, traffic between virtual machines residing on the same physical server has only been visible via third-party 'add-ons', which adds complexity, creates instability and increases operational risk. Under its partnership with VMWare, Gigamon now offers IT leaders with the technology to see their data center traffic in a private cloud as part of their date center's core functionality. "By combining the innovations provided in VMware's vSphere 5.0 and Gigamon's Traffic Visibility Fabric, customers can now achieve unprecedented visibility across both their physical and virtual networks," said Paul Hooper, VP of Marketing, Gigamon. "As the lines between internal data centers, the private cloud and the public cloud become less distinct, we are pleased to offer the critical piece of technology that enables visibility of the traffic traversing Enterprise and Hosting Provider data center environments."
