According to a release, the TAP program enables technology vendors to integrate their products with VMware virtualization software and deliver joint solutions to customers around the world. Prior to this combination being available, traffic between virtual machines residing on the same physical server has only been visible via third-party 'add-ons', which adds complexity, creates instability and increases operational risk. Under its partnership with VMWare, Gigamon now offers IT leaders with the technology to see their data center traffic in a private cloud as part of their date center's core functionality.
