MontaVista Adds Secure HTML5 and Android SupportOct 13, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- MontaVista Software announced secure HTML5 and Android support for its Automotive Technology Platform. "With the addition of Android and HTML5 capabilities to the MontaVista Automotive Technology Platform, we are providing our customers unprecedented design flexibility with two of the most popular application, UI and multimedia environments," said Dan Cauchy, VP Marketing and Business Development at MontaVista Software and Genivi Board Member, in a release. "Add to that our unique dual-layer security and we believe that we have finally bridged the gap between the fast moving mobile app environment and the stringent security requirements of an automotive solution. MontaVista continues to be at the forefront of delivering unique Genivi-compliant IVI solutions." MontaVista will be showing demonstrations of its Automotive Technology Platform at the Genivi Alliance All Members Meeting at the Wyndham Hotel in San Jose through Oct. 14. The addition of HTML5 support is provided via MontaVista's Modii Digital Media Solutions Platform which adds a HTML5-based UI Framework to its recently released Genivi-Compliant Platform. Complementing the Android and HTML5 capabilities, MontaVista has implemented a dual-layered secure environment consisting of both Security-Enhanced Linux and MontaVista Linux Containers. The Android and HTML5 applications are executed in a MontaVista Linux Container, which is an isolated virtualized container environment. MontaVista Software, a subsidiary of Cavium, is a provider of embedded Linux commercialization. ((Comments on this story may be sent to [email protected])) |
