Nuance acquires Swype


Oct 07, 2011 (Datamonitor Financial Deals Tracker via COMTEX) -- Nuance Communications, Inc., a provider of speech and imaging solutions, has acquired Swype, Inc., a developer of touch screen text-input technology, for $100 million. Both the companies are based in the US.



Swype previously raised venture capital funding from Nokia Growth Partners, Samsung Venture Investment Corporation, Benaroya Company, DoCoMo Capital, Inc., Ignition Partners and Samsung Ventures America.
