Purina Kicks Off Nationwide Pink 50(TM) Campaign to Support Breast Cancer ResearchST. LOUIS, MO, Sep 28, 2011 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Purina is once again thinking pink this fall as they gear up for their second annual Pink 50(TM) Campaign, an effort to unite animal lovers everywhere and raise awareness and support for breast cancer research. In October, more than 50 fundraising events will be held by Purina retailers nationwide in an effort to encourage communities to take action against the disease. "Last year's Purina Pink 50(TM) Campaign raised funds in both local and national support of breast cancer research," said Christy Goodwin, Marketing Manager, Land O'Lakes Purina Feed. "Most importantly, we reached out to women in rural America -- raising awareness about breast cancer, educating and sharing information and generating community support." Purina's Pink 50(TM) Campaign events will range from trail rides and rodeos to family fun events and pink-themed parties with each event sharing a common purpose -- to feed today for a difference tomorrow. A donation will be made to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, whose mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and translational research at leading medical centers worldwide, and increasing public awareness about good breast health.
