March Networks and DDN announce interoperability of video management platform

Sep 26, 2011 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- March Networks, a provider of intelligent IP video solutions, has announced that its Command video management platform is now interoperable with high-density storage appliances from DataDirect Networks, or DDN, an information storage company.

The integrated solution delivers scalability and petabytes of video storage, all managed using Command's web-based software interface.

The combination of Command's scalability and the DDN SFA10000 Storage Platform allows customers to expand their surveillance network. DDN storage options scale from 80TB to multi-petabytes off a single RAID engine, enabling customers to reduce datacenter footprints, and cut energy and cooling costs by as much as 40 percent, the company said.

"The adoption of megapixel cameras in the market is driving the need for higher scalability and reliability of achieved video," said Fabrizio Colciago, Chief Technology Officer, March Networks. "After evaluating a number of options, we selected DDN for its best-in-class real-time storage solution for single or multi-site enterprise-class applications. The combination of our technologies offers the robust capabilities that customers have been seeking for quite some time." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
