To commemorate the anniversary, Business Wire's Denver bureau will sponsor an educational program in October for public relations and investor relations professionals. As with all Business Wire offices, Business Wire Denver has always supported and been actively involved with local professional organizations, including National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI), Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Colorado BioScience Association, Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO) Colorado, and others.

Business Wire was founded in San Francisco on October 2, 1961 by Lorry I. Lokey. The Denver office opened its doors on May 2, 1984. Business Wire Denver serves public and private companies in Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Wyoming.

Today, the Denver office boasts a full-service sales and newsroom team including members of the global technology group. "In just the decade I've been here we've seen tremendous industry growth and advancements," commented Dylan Frusciano, Regional Vice President, Southwest. "The future is nothing but bright for Business Wire and it makes me proud to be a part of such a great company on such a momentous occasion."

As part of the Business Wire Gives Back 2011 initiative, encouraging employees to volunteer in their local communities, Senior Client Services Representative JoAnne Hirsc volunteered at the annual Colorado Basset Hound Rescue picnic where she spearheaded the silent auction to raise money for foster care and pay for health exams, vaccines and treatment of Basset Hounds. "It was a joy to work with this charity," said Hirsch. "So many wonderful organizations gave generously this year and fellow Basset owners bid with enthusiasm."

Additionally, Media Relations Team Database Specialist Thomas Shelley volunteered his time at Centaur Rising, a non-profit organization that emphasizes youth development through the teaching of classical horsemanship. Shelley helped ensure that young people have a chance to experience the confidence and character boost that comes from mastering the horse and rider partnership.
