lifeIMAGE Founder Showcases Medical Imaging Collaboration Solution at Fifth Annual Health 2.0 Conference

NEWTON, Mass. --(Business Wire)--

lifeIMAGE, the nation's leading provider of solutions for universal e-sharing of medical images, is pleased to announce that co-founder and CEO Hamid Tabatabaie will be a featured speaker at the "Health 2.0 in the Hospital," discussion at the Health 2.0 conference on September 25-27, 2011 in San Francisco. During the panel discussion, Tabatabaie will present the company's vision for creating a unified communication platform for medical image sharing to benefit providers and patients.

"Despite advances in healthcare IT, sharing medical images among doctors and across hospital systems is often still the responsibility of the patient or overnight couriers," said Tabatabaie. "Many of the nation's most highly regarded hospitals are using our cloud based system to dramatically improve collaboration inside and outside their hospital systems; and trending information indicates continued growth for even more sophisticated collaboration over the network into 2012. I anticipate the panel discussion will be lively and full of actionable information about more effective ways for improving care through medical image sharing."

The Health 2.0 conference is the chosen industry forum for launching the latest health technology (HIT) products. Companies attend to preview the latest innovations in patient care improvement, as well as to scout new talent. Software developers, physicians, start-up companies, global corporations, HIT vendors, payers, providers and health care leaders gather each year to be the first to see transformative health technologies before they are introduced in the global marketplace.

Matthew Holt, Health 2.0 co-founder said, "Health 2.0 is known as a forum for ground-breaking ideas and technology. Hamid's years of experience in medical imaging will offer attendees insights built upon hundeds of case studies with hospital systems around the world. We ask all speakers to provide guidance for those in the trenches who want to change medicine for the better. The panel on Health 2.0 in the Hospital fits squarely within that mission."

Tabatabaie has worked in the healthcare information technology industry for 27 years. Most recently, he held the position of chief executive officer of AMICAS, a web-based picture archiving and communication system company from 1999 to 2005. During his tenure, AMICAS experienced significant growth in revenues, size, diversity of its client base and strategic business partnerships. Prior to his departure, AMICAS had achieved annual sales of $50 million and enjoyed a customer base of more than 600 hospitals and imaging centers in the United States.

"Today's medical image-sharing technology is game changing," said Tabatabaie. "The forces of technology, work flow, and diagnostic best practices are all converging at the right time; at a powerful point where outcomes are improved dramatically with some relatively small changes. All of the most forward thinking professionals in the field are paying attention."

lifeIMAGE's list of clients includes seven of the top 17 hospitals named to the 2011-2012 U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll of the Best Hospitals.
