Altair technology qualified by Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology

Sep 19, 2011 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- 4G LTE chipsets developer Altair Semiconductor announced on Monday that following testing conducted by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), its dual mode FourGee-3100/6200 TDD/FDD-LTE chipset has been officially approved for use in LTE networks in China.

The company said that MIIT's approval of its chipsets was based on internal testing the ministry conducted, as well as on the results of interoperability and field performance trials that Altair held with mobile operator China Mobile in 2010.

FourGee-3100/6200 is a 3GPP LTE chipset that supports LTE throughputs of 100Mbps/50Mbps DL/UL, respectively. It implements a 20MHz MIMO receiver and supports both FDD and TDD variants using a single software, as well as covering any LTE frequency band in the range 700-2700MHz.
