[September 13, 2011] Labor to back media inquiry Tweet Sep 13, 2011 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Government is expected to announce an inquiry into the nation's media industry. The overseas telephone hacking scandal has led to a push for an inquiry. While Communications Minister Stephen Conroy initially opposed the inquiry, pressure from the Australian Greens and Australian Labor Party backbenchers has forced the Government to revise its policy.
