BRIEF: Three charged in car egging spree

Sep 13, 2011 (Beaver County Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- CHIPPEWA TWP. -- Three teenagers were charged after they went on a car egging spree that caused around $6,000 in property damage, police said.

Chippewa Township police said they received reports of 20 vehicles in the township being egged on June 25 and Aug. 11. Seven of the vehicles were damaged, the report said.

The total amount of reported damages is $5,974, but the cost of damages to two other vehicles is still unknown, the report said.

Police found an egg box containing five dozen eggs and discovered that the eggs came from Walmart in Chippewa. The store had surveillance video of the teens who bought the eggs and turned over the video to police, the report said. Police Chief Clint Berchtold and a teacher from Blackhawk High School, whom police did not name, were able to identify the teens.

Charges were filed Thursday against Tyler T. Latsko, 18, of 122 Thorndale Drive, Chippewa; Edward R. Wurzel, 19, of 343 Georgetown Road, Darlington Township; and Jacob R. Kennedy, 18, of 141 Emmett Drive, Chippewa.

All three are charged by mail with criminal mischief and criminal conspiracy.
