Interop chosen by four US regional wireless operatorsSep 13, 2011 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Core wireless solutions provider Interop Technologies announced on Tuesday that four US regional wireless operators - Bluegrass Cellular, Inland Cellular, Nex-Tech Wireless and Thumb Cellular - will deploy its Messaging Personalization and Control (MPAC) technology. No financial details were disclosed. Interop said that the four operators already use its messaging solutions and are adding MPAC software to enhance the quality and value of the messaging experience for their Short Message Service (SMS) and Multimedia Message Service (MMS) subscribers. MPAC offers personalisation features, including the ability to copy and forward messages and create an auto-reply and personalised signature; control features, which enable subscribers to filter messages using blacklists or whitelists that block or allow specific phone numbers, e-mail addresses and domain names; as well as the ability to manage MPAC features using Interop's web-based subscriber portal, which will be customised for each operator and integrated with its existing services. Bluegrass Cellular provides wireless service to subscribers in Central Kentucky, Inland Cellular serves Eastern Washington and North Central Idaho, Nex-Tech Wireless offers service in Central and Western Kansas as well as in Colorado, while Thumb Cellular operates in the Eastern region of Michigan.
