BRIEF: Central kicks off homecoming season

Sep 09, 2011 (Greeley Tribune - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Dates, dresses, suits, corsages, restaurant reservations -- all the things most high school students look forward to worrying about in the first couple of months of a new school year.

For the students at Greeley Central High School, however, those worries were pushed into the first couple of weeks this year.

The school's annual homecoming parade, football game and dance came earlier than usual -- way earlier than usual. Friday was the parade and big game, and today is the dance, just one month after school began.

"It was kind of weird," said sophomore Patrick Ryan, 15. "We had to decide at the end of last year if we were going to have it really early or really late." For the complete story see Saturday's edition of The Tribune.
