In collaboration with Facebook and TCL the smartphone has been developed at a price of Rs4,950. The smartphone comes with a 2.4-inch screen and a QWERTY keypad and has functions such as status updates to sharing a photo with a single click. Kumar Ramanathan, Vodafone-Essar chief marketing officer stated that the phone has been designed to let everyone experience the fun of connecting with friends on the go, at a pocket friendly price. Vodafone Blue has been launched globally as Vodafone 555, operates on a proprietary operating system. Previously, Facebook had announced same partnerships with device manufacturers INQ and HTC.
