Ohio mom indicted on charges of raping infant son, sending video to Battle Creek manSep 09, 2011 (Detroit Free Press - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A 24-year-old Ohio mother is in jail in Columbus charged with two counts of rape after investigators say she sent a video of herself molesting her 10-month-old son to a man who lives near Battle Creek. The woman could face up to life in prison if convicted of the charges, according to the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office. She's also charged with one count of endangering children and one count of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor. Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien said today that the mother e-mailed the video, filmed Aug. 30, to an ex-boyfriend in Battle Creek. An ex-girlfriend of the man found the video on his computer in his Pennfield Township home in Calhoun County and contacted the Michigan State Police post in Battle Creek, according to the Michigan State Police. "Certainly, periodically we see cases like this, but I can't recall seeing one involving a 10-month old," O'Brien said. "This was not the only one sent to this man -- not wth the minor, but graphic sexual videos over period of time. When the youngster was seen in the one, that's when the ex-girlfriend contacted police." The woman is being held in the county jail in Columbus on a $1 million bond. Police arrested her after executing a search warrant at her home Sept. 1. Her arraignment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday in Columbus, according to O'Brien. O'Brien said the mother, who has no criminal record and no history of mental health issues, lives with her mother in the northwest region of Columbus. She's being represented by the Franklin County Public Defender's Office. The baby was placed in temporary custody with local child protective services and is being cared for in a foster home, O'Brien said.
