e.Republic Names Winners of Its Digital Government Awards

Sep 07, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- e.Republic's Center for Digital Government has announced the 2011 winners of its annual Best of the Web and Digital Government Achievement Awards.

According to a release, Best of the Web first place winners are Arkansas (state), Seattle (city), and Stearns County, Minn. (county).

The Digital Government Achievement Awards highlight outstanding agency and department websites and applications. Forty-three awards in six categories were given this year.

"The goal of every government website is to provide online services and information to constituents," said Cathilea Robinett, executive director of the Center for Digital Government.

"However, this year's winners have taken the power of the Web to the next level -- combining clear communication, design aesthetic and easy navigation. Their foresight and leadership is creating unforeseen opportunities in government-to-citizen interaction and positioning the portal as a critical piece of public service delivery. The Center thanks them for their continuing innovation and congratulates them on their achievements." 2011 Best of the Web Awards State Portal Category: 1st Place: Arkansas 2nd Place: Utah 3rd Place: Indiana 4th Place: Rhode Island 5th Place: Texas Finalists: Alabama Kansas Michigan Tennessee City Portal Category: 1st Place: City of Seattle, Wash.
