Broadband Communities Magazine Names CommScope to List of Top 100 Broadband Companies in 2011Sep 07, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- CommScope, a global provider of infrastructure solutions for communications networks, was named to Broadband Communities Magazine's Top 100 Broadband Companies in 2011. According to Broadband Communities Magazine, the complete list of companies was published in the July issue. "We look for companies that are making a difference in the fiber broadband industry, either by deploying fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks, supplying key hardware, software or services, introducing innovative technologies or business models, or providing conditions that make FTTH builds feasible," said Zager. "CommScope was recognized especially for its BrightPath Optical Solutions (BOS), an end-to-end FTTx solution that can enable fiber to be deployed economically in rural areas." "We thank the staff and readers of Broadband Communities for this honor," said Ric Johnsen, senior VP, Broadband, CommScope. "It is an exciting time to be in this industry because it won't be long before subscribers can get TV anywhere and everywhere from almost any device possible. The residential and commercial broadband markets are being offered services that many of us were only dreaming about five years ago, and CommScope is committed to helping expand broadband infrastructures in the United States and around the world." BOS is set across multiple fiber architectures for a new approach that works for customers' needs. Comprising a full suite of head-end, outside plant and end-user solutions, BOS enables a multi-system operator to choose a product that provides a migration path to the technology of tomorrow.
