Avnet Memec and Energy Micro Host Upcoming Technical Seminars [Manufacturing Close - Up]

(Manufacturing Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Avnet Memec, part of the Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas business region of Avnet, Inc., announced the launch of a series of technical seminars focused on Energy Micro's energy-efficient EFM32 microcontrollers (MCUs).

In a release on Aug. 31, the company said these day-long technical seminars will take place in nine cities across the United States and will be hosted by technical experts from both Avnet Memec and Energy Micro.

Attendees will spend the day exploring the advantages of Energy Micro's product families, through technical presentations and hands- on labs - featuring the EFM32 Gecko starter kit. Ideal for use in ultra low-power applications, the EFM32 MCU enables designers to achieve the lowest possible energy consumption in applications that operate with no external power or operator intervention. In addition, technical experts from ARM will also be on hand to present on ways to simplify design migration using Cortex-M3 architecture.

"Energy Micro is excited to team up with Avnet Memec to help train our broadening base of customers in the Americas," said Raman Sharma, vice president of sales, Americas, Energy Micro. "With this seminar series, a team of experts will give our customers a hands- on experience with our energy-friendly Tiny Gecko microcontroller as well as our innovative energyAware and Simplicity Studio software suites." "Our customers are looking to Avnet for energy-efficient MCU solutions to meet the rising demand for battery-operated applications, like sensor monitoring and security access," said Phil Sansone, senior vice president, Avnet Memec Americas. "This seminar series offers engineers the opportunity to receive technical training for one of the most sought-after technologies in the marketplace today. This series helps designers find better solutions in Energy Micro's product families and accelerate their time to market." Energy Micro is a global provider of energy-friendly microcontrollers and RF transceivers based on the ARM Cortex processor core. Energy Micro is backed by Nordic venture partners, Northzone Ventures and Investinor.
