*** Oklahoma Inventor Develops Patent for Wave Powered Pumping Apparatus ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 5 -- Tom J. Windle, Bartlesville, Okla., has developed a patent (8,007,252) for a "wave powered pumping apparatus." The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "An apparatus is disclosed for an improved float type wave powered pump that uses the continuous rising and falling wave action in a body of water to pump a fluid. The pump includes piston and cylinder assemblies that are configured for relative reciprocal movement therebetween. One of the assemblies is anchored to the floor of the body of water and the other is vertically moveable in response to a drive float riding on a wave. The pump selectively includes a tide compensating device to reduce the ratio of vertical travel of the drive float to vertical travel of the moveable assembly. The pump also selectively includes a fluid inlet check valve incorporating a support plate of the piston assembly with openings therein and a cover for the same. The pump further selectively includes a directional pressure-activated seal at the point of sliding connection between the piston rod and the cylinder." The patent application was filed on Sept. 26, 2007 (11/862,031). *** OrthoCare Innovations Assigned Patent ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 5 -- OrthoCare Innovations, Washington, has been assigned a patent (8,007,543) developed by James Jay Martin, Oklahoma City, for a vacuum attachment system.

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "A vacuum socket system pertaining to the field of prosthetics wherein an enhanced suspension mechanism is provided by incorporating a vacuum source, circuitry, and a power source. A virtually air-tight seal between residual limb and prosthesis allows a vacuum fit to be generated via a vacuum source. The vacuum source is in constant interaction with circuitry and software for a means of vacuum pressure control, data recordation, and other means. A sound dampening method is employed to lessen both the sound and vibration generated from the vacuum source." The patent application was filed on Sept. 11, 2007 (12/440,581). The full-text of the patent can be found at http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PTXT&s1=8007543&OS=8007543&RS=8007543 Written by Kusum Sangma; edited by Anand Kumar.

*** Oklahoma Inventor Develops Patent for In Situ Heat Induced Antigen Recovery and Staining Apparatus and Method ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 5 -- Lee Angros, Bethany, Okla., has developed a patent (8,007,721) for an "in Situ heat induced antigen recovery and staining apparatus and method." The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "An automated in situ heat induced antigen recovery and staining method and apparatus for treating a plurality of microscope slides. The process of heat induced antigen recovery and the process of staining the biological sample on the microscope slide are conducted in the same apparatus, wherein the microscope slides do not need to be physically removed from one apparatus to another. The reaction conditions for treating a slide can preferably be controlled independently, including the individualized application of reagents to each slide and the individualized treatment of each slide." The patent application was filed on Sept. 17, 2009 (12/561,568). The full-text of the patent can be found at http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PTXT&s1=8,007,721&OS=8,007,721&RS=8,007,721 Written by Satyaban Rath; edited by Hemanta Panigrahi.

*** Oklahoma Inventor Develops Patent for In Situ Heat Induced Antigen Recovery and Staining Apparatus and Method ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 5 -- Lee Angros, Bethany, Okla., has developed a patent (8,007,720) for an "in situ heat induced antigen recovery and staining apparatus and method." The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Each treatment step occurs within the same reaction compartment. The reaction conditions of each reaction compartment for treating a slide can preferably be controlled independently, including the individualized application of reagents to each slide and the individualized treatment of each slide. The reagents are preferably held in a reagent dispensing strip similar to a "blister pack"." The patent application was filed on Aug. 26, 2008 (12/198,692). The full-text of the patent can be found at http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PTXT&s1=8,007,720&OS=8,007,720&RS=8,007,720 Written by Satyaban Rath; edited by Hemanta Panigrahi.
