: T-Mobile targets Britain's smaller businesses with new 12 month tariff

Sep 05, 2011 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- T-Mobile today launches the only 12 month mobile phone plan with a free smartphone designed for micro businesses and sole traders. The company is the first to target this market with shorter term commitments and value they need to help survive the coming 12 months.

T-Mobile's customer research shows that many sole traders and micro businesses anticipate the next 12 months will be tough with over 70%1 expecting their revenue trend to stay the same or decrease next year. The mobile phone market for UK businesses has been focused on longer contracts for bigger, more established firms up until now.

The new mobile plan is also the only 12 month tariff on the market to offer startups, micro and sole trader companies a range of free top-end smartphones with their tariff. Customers get the great value they need as well as the email, internet and app benefits that come with leading smartphone handsets, and a short term flexible contract. Hardware is important and the big rise in smartphone popularity has occurred across businesses as well as consumers. But with costs running at up to 300 for a handset when bought without a contract - T-Mobile's offering provides outstanding value. Top smartphone models such as the HTC Desire S, HTC Wildfire S, BlackBerry 9300 and BlackBerry 9780 are all included free of charge within the price plans.

Martin Lyne, SME Marketing Director at T-Mobile said: "Micro businesses and sole traders have long been overlooked by mobile operators but it's these groups that really need more quality, flexibility and value, without being tied into long term contracts. This is why we are offering the strongest range of free smartphones available on a 12 month business tariff. Our customers can now take advantage of both T-Mobile and Orange networks in the UK, following the merger to form Everything Everywhere." T-Mobile's 12 month business tariff is available through its direct and indirect channels, including retail, telesales and online. For more information, please visit www.t-mobile.co.uk/business.
