Timex Holds Kaduna Communication SummitSep 05, 2011 (Daily Trust/All Africa Global Media via COMTEX) -- Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Funmi Olayinka, who is the special guest at the second edition of National Communication Summit, packaged by Timex School of Communication (TSC) is to declare open the occasion which holds between September 12 and 14, 2011 at the school premises in Kaduna. Malam Kabir Dangogo, the executive director and founder of the school, said the summit, which has been designed as short-term training programme, targets professionals in the public and private sectors. He said Olayinka would deliver the keynote address at the event to be chaired by the Director-General, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Mallam Yusuf Nuhu. Dangogo is however optimistic that the summit segment may be sustained, when the school gets the nod to begin the diploma programme. "Basically, the objective of the school is to train communication professionals and conduct research into communications trends," Dangogo added. The forthcoming second edition, according to him, also has a session on Nigeria's Freedom of Information Act in Global Best Practice, featuring communication adviser, ECOWAS Commission, Mr. Fisan Bankale; managing editor of The Nation, Mr. Yusuf Alli; and head, corporate affairs department of Union Bank Plc; Mr. Francis D. Barde as facilitators. Other issues to be examined at the three-day outing are Building and Managing a Successful Brand; the Media and Advocacy; Managing Crisis using Social Media; Marketing Communications; Writing Effective Press Release; Giving Press Interview and Handling Difficult Questions; and What Corporate Affairs Managers should know about Financial Public Relations. |
