Times-Review launches pick 'em contestSep 02, 2011 (Cleburne Times-Review - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A new contest conducted by the Times-Review via its website allows contestants an opportunity to win weekly prizes by making their college football weekly winning selections. "We are excited to provide this new contest for our readers," Managing Editor Dale Gosser said. "College football is one of the most watched athletic events in the fall. With this contest, which costs nothing to enter, you can watch college football and have a chance to win a prize. There is nothing lose." A link to the College Football Sweepstakes, which began this week and continues until December, is located in the right-hand column of the Times-Review homepage at www.cleburnetimesreview.com. Users must create an account the first time they enter picks and can return each week to make new selections by simply entering their e-mail address. They will also have access to past picks to keep track of their record. Each week, users can choose the winner of 25 Saturday college football matchups. Deadline to enter selections is 11 p.m. each Friday. A winner will be drawn the following Wednesday from a pool of individuals who selected the most accurate picks among entries from CNHI newspapers across the country. The weekly winner will receive a $100 gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods, redeemable in store and online. At the end of the season, all weekly entrants with the highest scores will be pooled and a grand prize winner will be drawn. The grand prize is a $1,500 gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods. "I know we have a lot of Texas, TCU and Texas A&M alumni in Johnson County," Gosser said.
