BRIEF: Drug deal shooting leaves two woundedSep 02, 2011 (The Kansas City Star - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- In a drug deal gone bad, the shooting suspect denied to police having a gun but did admit filling a backpack with rabbit food to make it look like marijuana. The prospective buyer ended up shot in the chest. The suspect was hospitalized, too. He apparently shot the tip of his finger off in the incident that occurred about 10 p.m. Thursday at a restaurant parking lot on U.S. 71 in Grandview. Prosecutors today filed assault, armed criminal action and robbery charges against Jackson A. Kind, 23, of Kansas City. Court documents allege Kind stuck a gun in the victim's chest and demanded money during a drug deal. After a struggle, Kind shot the victim in the chest. Kind first told officers he met the victim to sell a video game and that he was the victim of a robbery. |Donald Bradley, [email protected] ___ (c)2011 The Kansas City Star (Kansas City, Mo.)
