IES Introduces North American Training TourSep 02, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), a provider of integrated performance analysis software and consulting services for sustainable building design, announced a series of training programs throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Company said these two-day events bring professionals from IES to teach engineers and sustainability consultants simulation techniques and methods to enable more sustainable design practices. Participants will receive first-hand knowledge on how to use IES' precise, intelligent sustainability solutions to design more energy-efficient buildings and achieve LEED credits. IES noted that planned cities for the series include Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver and Washington, DC. According to a release, the two full-days of training cover the following and can be taken together or separately: -Day 1 - Intermediate Simulation Analysis: Introduction to version 6.4.0.5 of the IES Virtual Environment, Importing from SketchUp and Revit, Weather and Solar analysis, Artificial Lighting and Daylighting (LEED Eq8.1), Glare Analysis, ASHRAE Heating and Cooling Loads, Occupancy Comfort (Eq7.1), Natural/Mixes-mode Ventilation Analysis, Introduction & Basics to HVAC Energy Analysis -Day 2- Advanced and Building Integrated Systems Modelling: Detailed HVAC Energy Analysis, Geothermal Analysis with Gaia GLD2010, modelling of ASHRAE 90.1 PRM HVAC systems and controls, ASHRAE 62.1 Increased Ventilation Analysis, Build and run DOAS with active controls, Heat exchangers, indirect-evaporative cooling, energy recovery, heat pipes, runaround loops, and desiccant wheels, UFAD systems modelling, Advanced Occupancy CFD Comfort Analysis for ASHRAE 55 "We have recently seen demand in North America increase significantly and wanted to get out on the road to meet face-to-face with those desiring to get to grips with the sustainable advantages offered by whole-building simulation practices. Earlier this month, we hosted sessions in Chicago and Denver, both of which were very successful," said Dr. Don McLean, founder and CEO of IES. "We are very excited to bring our integrated energy simulation expertise and technology to practitioners across the region, enabling more sustainable design practices."
