[September 01, 2011] Local restaurants inspected for compliance Tweet ORANGE, Sep 01, 2011 (The Orange Leader - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The Orange County Health Inspector recently inspected Whataburger located at 2300 Mac Arthur Drive in Orange had a routine inspection. They received a 93 out of a possible 100. The Demerits were for hair restraint needed, and equipment that cuts the vegetables still had leftover food on them. Other scores include: --Subway located at 3716 16th Street in Orange. Score: 100 --Market Basket (Deli) at 2005 Texas Avenue in Bridge City. Score: 94. Demerits for evidence of several flies and gnats. --Pizza Hut located at 1720 Lutcher Drive in Orange. Score: 94. Demerits for evidence of several flies and gnats found at compartment sink. --McDonald's located at 1710 16th Street in Orange. Score: 90. Demerits for storage containers sitting directly on top of lettuce and report notes that all area of the restaurant need to be cleaned and sanitized. --Domino's Pizza located at 970 North Main Street in Vidor. Score: 96. --The Donut Palace located at 190 West Freeway in Vidor. Score: 97. --Happy Donuts located at 1081 North Main Street in Vidor. Score: 72. Demerits for foods in the hot and cold hold at improper temperatures, employee not washing hands between handling money and preparing food, employees water bottle in the cooler, storing dough inside on emptied laundry detergent container. --JB's BBQ located at 570 Old Highway 90 in Orange. Score: 100. Report noted "everything looks good!" --Kam Wah Buffet located at 150 Strickland Drive in Orange. Score: 73. Demerits for eggs and sushi in the cold hold were above acceptable temperatures, dead roach found sitting on floor drain, It is noted on the report the establishment has done nothing to correct previous violations since last inspection on June 8, 2011. --Sonic located at 2210 Highway 62 in Orange. Score: 97. --Crawdad's #7 Moz Grill located at 12099 Interstate 10 in Orange. Score 89. Demerits were for storing food on the floor in the cooler. Several flies were found and no hot water at the hand washing station. --Brookshire Brothers (Deli) located at 1380 North Main Street in Vidor. Score: 100. --K-Dan's (Deli) located at 9604 FM 105 in Orangefield. Score: 91. Demerits were for several flies were found. --Robert's Steakhouse located at 3720 West Park Avenue in Orange. Score: 93.
