BT Deploys VMTurbo to Support Virtual Data Center On Demand ServiceAug 31, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- VMTurbo, a provider of intelligent workload management software, announced that BT Group plc, a telecommunications company, has licensed the VMTurbo Cloud Operations Manager for its internal operations. Designed specifically to orchestrate across multiple layers of services and infrastructure, the Company said that the VMTurbo Cloud Operations Manager helps organizations achieve the agility promised by virtualization and cloud computing in complex and dynamic environments. According to a release, BT will deploy the VMTurbo Cloud Operations Manager to support its Enterprise VDC (Virtual Data Center), which delivers virtualized compute and storage resources to host thousands of IT applications. BT's Enterprise VDC runs on a dynamic and virtualized infrastructure of approximately 600 ESX servers and thousands of VMs in multiple data centers. VMTurbo said that BT will use the Company to streamline the efficiency of the Enterprise VDC platform while assuring that compute and storage resources are allocated in the optimal way to assure application performance. "Having successfully deployed a proof of concept in two of our major data centers, we expect to make significant savings while, at the same time, we will be able to sustain application performance by making optimal resource allocation decisions," said Head of IT Capacity Planning at BT, Ben Ashford.
