BRIEF: Green honored as first aEURoeService Personnel of the YearaEUR award

Aug 29, 2011 (Coal Valley News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- In late June, Boone County Schools named their first Service Personnel of the Year.

Ginger Green, secretary of Madison Elementary, was the recipient for the 2011-2012 school year.

"This prestigious award was just established by the West Virginia Department of Education and all county recipients/winners will be honored in early fall by the WVDE," said Boone County Schools Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lisa Beck. "The award is aligned similarly to the Teacher of the Year program." Teacher Suzanne Bell, who recommended Green, said she is very proud of her.

"She is very efficient and professional," Bell said. "She is not only professional but personable. She encourages interaction fro faculty and visitors." Green also volunteers to help with any after-school activities, such as, ballgames, dances and academic events when needed, Bell added.

Madison Elementary School Principal Pat Conaway said Green is a true professional.

"She has worked 34 years with perfect attendance for the lat 2 school years," Conaway said. "Ginger comes to work early and stays late on most days. She takes the initiative and is willing to go above and beyond to make Madison Elementary School a great school." ___ (c)2011 the Coal Valley News (Madison, W.Va.)
