Twenty-six Fairfax County firms on 2011 Inc. magazine list of 500 fastest-growing U.S. companiesFAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. --(Business Wire)-- Twenty-six Fairfax County firms - most of them in technology and professional services fields - are on Inc. magazine's 2011 list of the 500 fastest-growing companies in the nation. That is up from 24 companies on the 2010 list. Fairfax County has more firms on the 2011 list than any other county and all but the four most-populated states in the union: California, Florida, Texas and New York. Fairfax County companies represent 70.3 percent of the 37 Virginia-based firms on the 2011 list and 53.1 percent of the 49 firms from the Washington D.C., area. The $742 million in annual revenue reported by Fairfax County's Inc. 500 firms accounted for 85.6 percent of the revenue reported by the Virginia companies on the 2011 list, and 72 percent of the revenue reported by the Washington-area companies. Government contracting outfit Integrity Management Consulting, at number 44 on the list, is the highest-ranked Fairfax County firm. Others include software company AppAssure Software (62), IT service providers MicroTech (107) and Soft Tech Consulting (127), and business products and services firm The Trademark Company (138). "The Inc. list illustrates how Fairfax County is a great location for younger, fast-growing companies, just as the Fortune 500 list shows off Fairfax County's attractiveness for large corporate headquarters," said Gerald L.
