BRIEF: Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week: Man allegedly stole computer; watch video

Aug 26, 2011 (El Paso Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A man who entered an auto salvage warehouse through a hole in its ceiling and then stole a computer is the focus of this week's Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week.

Officials said around 1:30 a.m. July 25, the man entered the Imports and More Auto Salvage, 13471 Montana, through a hole in the business' metal ceiling. The hole was next to where a new evaporative cooler had been installed.

A surveillance camera at the business captured video of the man talking to someone on a cell phone as he searched the business for items to steal. He ended up taking a new recently purchased computer.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man in his 20s or 30s, medium build with medium-length hair, long side burns and a mustache. At the time of the burglary, he wore a dress-style hat and a plain white T-shirt.

Anyone with information on the suspect's identity and whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 566-8477. Tips may also be submitted online at www.crimestoppersofelpaso.org. Tipsters will remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward if their tip leads to an arrest.
