ViaSat Satellite VoIP System Selected by Grupo TVSA Argentina


CARLSBAD, Calif., Aug. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- ViaSat Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT) is supplying its Edge Access Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) system to Grupo TVSA of Argentina, enabling the CATV and broadband Internet provider to offer triple play services. The ViaSat softswitch communication system delivers end-to-end, enhanced satellite VoIP networking for broadband, enterprise managed services, wholesale services, peering, and hosted applications.

The combination will enable Grupo TVSA to launch services in cooperation with three national subsidiaries: Teledifusora S.A. (Rosario City), Megavision Santiago S.A. (Santiago del Estero City), Decoteve S.A. (Salta City). The project involves deploying phone services on more than 15,000 lines, including SS7 protocols for interconnecting with telephony incumbents in the region.
