[August 23, 2011] BRIEF: Time Warner Cable High School Player of the Week needs your votes again Tweet Aug 23, 2011 (The Wilson Daily Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Readers of The Wilson Times will again have a chance to vote for the high school football player of the week this season. The Time Warner Cable High School Football Player of the Week returns to wilsontimes.com for a second season after a successful debut in 2010. The season-long online voting contest totaled more than 97,000 votes last year as readers made their opinions known. Each week, the Times sports staff will assemble a list of four to seven area players who had outstanding performances that week. The list of nominees will be available each Sunday night during the season. A short summary of each player's performance will accompany his photo on the ballot. Voting will end at 5 p.m. each Thursday. Live voting results will be visible until noon each Thursday. Readers may vote as often as they like but can vote only once per hour. In the event weather forces games to be played on a Monday, the list of nominees will appear Monday night. The results will be announced each Friday in print and online.
