T-Mobile Strengthens Support for Government Agencies With Mobile Communications Solution
BELLEVUE, Wash. & TAMPA, Fla. --(Business Wire)--
Today at LandWarNet,
T-Mobile (News - Alert) USA, Inc. introduced Persistent Communication Solutions by
T-Mobile, a mobile telecommunications solution to support government
entities' Continuity of Operations (CooP) efforts. As another step in
the company's commitment to government customers, the solution lets
first responders stay connected during an emergency from the same phone
they use every day without having to switch to a different device, even
when commercial wireless networks are out of service. The solution also
enables wireless communication in remote areas where no commercial
networks exist.
Persistent Communication Solutions by T-Mobile is powered by T-Mobile's
Wi-Fi Calling for Government technology, which allows voice and data
communications on an employee's device in areas where macro networks are
down, such as during a natural disaster. T-Mobile government customers
are able to leverage Persistent Communication Solutions by T-Mobile on
devices capable of Wi-Fi Calling and can tailor the solution to their
specific needs. T-Mobile will demonstrate the solution at Booth 1511
during LandWarNet, August 23 - 25, 2011.
"With Persistent Communication Solutions by T-Mobile, we are able to
offer improved mobile connectivity in emergency situations," said Tom
Casey, federal market business development manager at T-Mobile USA.
"T-Mobile's Wi-Fi Calling for Government technology, cobined with
commercial satellite service and tracking resources, enables continued
business operations that are more reliable, even under challenging
circumstances."
Persistent Communication Solutions by T-Mobile provides the following
benefits to government customers:
-
Ability to operate quickly on secure, deployable 802.11Wi-Fi networks.
-
Access to a commercial satellite service for back-haul connectivity,
if necessary and available.
-
A full suite of partner technology services to help emergency response
agencies coordinate communication and track responders while vital
equipment can be added to new or existing systems.
-
Critical personnel and resource tracking presented on a dashboard for
use by incident commanders.
-
Integration of most mapping and software devices, and interoperability
between LMRs, cell and other systems is available.
-
Training and installation assistance from T-Mobile and its partners.
In addition to Persistent Communication by T-Mobile, T-Mobile will
refresh and expand its government
website within T-Mobile.com on August 25, 2011, to help the
company's current and new government customers easily find the right
plans, products and solutions to fit their organization's needs.
T-Mobile and its partners work together to provide government-grade
security for T-Mobile's network, Wi-Fi hotspots and devices via security
algorithms, encryption keys, IPSec VPN tunnels and more.
