Phixios, Inc. Announces IP Discovery ServiceFrisco, TX, Aug 23, 2011 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Phixios new IP Discovery service utilizes ICMP and SNMP protocols to document each IP address utilized in a given subnet or IP address range. The output of the discovery provides each utilized IP address with the function (Router, Switch, Windows Server, etc.). This service is completely cloud based with no hardware or software required at the client's site. The Phixios Discovery server can access the client environment directly from the client's internet connection utilizing a Virtual Private Network (VPN) with the client's firewall configured to allow ICMP and SNMP access to the environment. The Phixios IP Discovery service can be one-time only or executed in an ongoing bases. If the service is ongoing, the results will also identify any new devices discovered in the environment. This service is designed to work with clients to verify their production inventory, to validate Change Control and Release Management processes, and to identify potential rouge devices. The Phixios IP Discovery service augments the existing Phixios services that include Website Monitoring, ICMP Monitoring and Full Monitoring. All the Phixios services are cloud based services with no client agent required.
