Cypress Communications Expands Flagship UCaaS Offering with Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution

ATLANTA --(Business Wire)--

Cypress Communications today announces the addition of the Cisco® Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) and the expansion of its flagship C4 Product Suite. Cisco HCS will be integrated into the Cypress cloud and backbone infrastructure, marketed as C4 UC™ and delivered as an enterprise, hosted Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) solution. Backed by Cisco technology, Cypress will provide hosted UCaaS with innovative capabilities, such as seamless call transfers from fixed to mobile phones, the use of presence technology, web conferencing, desktop video and a state-of-the-art mobile client that extends UCaaS functionality to Apple (News - Alert) iOS and Android based devices, including Cisco Cius™. C4 UC will be generally available for sale in September 2011.

"Adding the Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution platform to our C4 Product Suite complements our award-winning C4 IP® hosted unified communications (UC) solution and gives us the flexibility to provide a broad range of options for our SME customers. We're seeing an increase in mobile collaboration using phones and tablets, and more often than not, social media and federation are being used by our customers. With C4 UC, users can have the social mobility and flexible collaboration they want, while at the same time allowing the enterprise to ramp to full infrastructure in the cloud and all of the inherent benefits that the cloud brings - cost savings, operational efficiency and business continuity. The Cypress cloud allows the enterprise to nimbly adapt to new technologies, like C4 UC, but with the confidence and peace-of-mind that comes from knowing that your application is basically 'CallManager in the cloud' backed by technology giant Cisco, a trusted leader in infrastructure, networks and communications," said Frank Grillo (News - Alert), EVP of Applications, Implementation & Support at Cypress.

"Cypress Communications has a solid track record of delivering advanced hosted solutions to professional services and law firms with high requirements for communications and collaboration capabilities. With the new C UC service based on the Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution infrastructure, Cypress will be able to meet the needs of the most demanding customers requiring a comprehensive set of business telephony, conferencing, mobility and presence tools. Customers with existing Cisco infrastructure are likely to benefit the most as they can continue to use their Cisco handsets and can even transfer the right to manage their Cisco Unified Communications Manager licenses to the hosted service or seamlessly integrate hosted and premises-based solutions into hybrid environments, thus utilizing the best of both worlds," said Elka Popova, Director, Unified Communications & Collaboration, Information & Communication Technologies, Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert).

Cypress will integrate the Cisco HCS into the company's cloud computing-based national infrastructure and offer an enterprise-level UCaaS solution. The newest product will be marketed as C4 UC and includes collaboration and mobility, which can be tailored and customized for Cypress customers. C4 UC will be deployed as a cloud service and includes virtual PBX (News - Alert) functionality, email, IM and presence, file sharing, conferencing, desktop video, management controls, unified fixed and wireless clients, fixed mobile convergence, multimedia communications, enterprise-level social media and federation for extra-enterprise communications. While callers may simply dial the user's office phone number, the C4 UC user can use any phone, in any location as their office phone. Conversations appear to be taking place at their office desk.

"Through the Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution, Cisco is enabling Cypress Communications to provide cloud computing-based software and Infrastructure-as-a-Service solutions that offer unmatched levels of deployment flexibility, scalability, ease of technology management and robust business continuity. By working with Cypress, we're able to help them quickly and cost-effectively offer comprehensive unified communications and collaboration solutions to their customers, who represent mid- to large-sized enterprise customers and primarily within the legal, professional services and medical verticals where the company has achieved much success," said Eric Schoch, senior director of product management, Internet protocol communication business unit, Cisco.

As a hosted solution, C4 UC enables small- to mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) to benefit from a premium unified communications experience without the hassles of owning and maintaining an in-house solution. SMEs benefit from winning Cisco Unified CallManager features, but avoid upfront capital expenditures, ongoing maintenance costs and the day-to-day management of the solution. Cypress owns all of the equipment and manages C4 UC from its robust network cloud to the phone on each desk, so enterprises pay a single monthly fee and avoid devoting internal IT staff to managing the solution.

Cypress is unveiling today its UCaaS solution, enabled by Cisco HCS, at the International Legal Technology Association's (ILTA) annual conference in Nashville, TN at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, booth #722.
