This is more than the $550,000 the industry group spent in the previous quarter and tops the $700,000 CEA spent in the same quarter last year. CEA also lobbied on issues including wireless communications and energy efficiency. CEA is the industry group that represents manufacturers and distributors of consumer electronics and related technology. Its members include Apple Inc., Intel Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co. and others. CEA lobbied Congress and the White House, the Environmental Protection Agency, the departments of Energy and Commerce and the U.S. Trade Representative during the quarter, according to the report the group filed July 20 with the House clerk's office.
