BRIEF: Steve Yzerman featured in 'NHL 12' video game

Aug 18, 2011 (Detroit Free Press - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- This is both an honor and kind of creepy.

Red Wings great Steve Yzerman is one of nine legends players featured in the NHL 12 video game.

He was announced Wednesday, with Patrick Roy, Jeremy Roenick and Borje Salming. Previous reveals were Wayne Gretzky, Chris Chelios and Ray Bourque, and there are still two to go.

EA Sports is promoting the legends with video clips -- such as Roy, being bowled over by Pavel Datsyuk. That one's pretty cool.

Yzerman's video shows, among other things, his overtime playoff goal against St. Louis.

Now the creepy part: The game lets you put the players on any team, so it also shows the Captain in a Tampa Bay Lightning uniform, skating next to Steve Stamkos.

It's ... unnatural.
