BRIEF: Mentor Farmers' Market celebrates 3 years

Aug 12, 2011 (Grand Forks Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The Mentor (Minn.) Farmers' Market will celebrate its third anniversary from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, including demonstrations on maple syrup production, basket- weaving, using essential oils, wheat-weaving, spinning/carding wool, tortilla-making, and face- painting.

The Mentor Farmers Market, held outside the school, provides high-quality community-based products and gives farmers and consumers a placed to meet. During this time of year, it provides fresh produce, eggs, honey, quality meats, jams, salsa, baked goods, unique homemade crafts, and bait worms.

Beginning November through May the market has remained open the second Saturday of each month in the Mentor Community Center to hold educational classes on food preservation.
