Ron Paul Campaign Announces 'Women for Ron Paul' Nationwide Coalition

LAKE JACKSON, Texas --(Business Wire)--

The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today the national "Women for Ron Paul" coalition to energize women voters of all professions, interests and points of view.

The inaugural group of women supporters hailing from Iowa consisted of a psychologist, a mental health counselor and a registered nurse, perhaps illustrating how Dr. Paul's healthcare peers often gravitate toward him.

Dr. Paul is by trade an OB-GYN who personally delivered more than 4,000 babies.

"I have been studying Dr. Paul's commentary and books since 2007. His logical examination of economic history, particularly the role of fiat currency within the system, and his ability to inform others about the effects of certain economic policy decisions is intellectually honest," said Andrea Bie, Ph.D. of Waterville, Iowa.

"Dr. Paul's patient and gracious style is appealing. As a woman, I look for a leader to be intellectually and personally honest - Dr. Ron Paul is tht leader," said Dr. Bie, an educational psychologist.

"I'm voting for Ron Paul because I believe in personal liberty. People should be free to make their own decisions, make their own mistakes, and get the most benefit out of their own hard work," said Melinda Wadsley, who works as a mental health counselor in North Liberty, Iowa.

"I will be there at the straw poll and I will drag as many others as I can find to vote for Ron Paul," said Ms. Wadsley.

"As a woman and a registered nurse, I have arrived at my conservative beliefs by going through the school of hard knocks. Ron Paul has long personified everything I am for, plus he practices what he preaches in both his professional and personal life," said Margo Chenoweth Lemke, RN.

"Dr. Paul has proven leadership ability, good business acumen, good common sense, and is a man who has never sold out. This country needs him now," said Ms. Lemke.

Sixty-six percent of female citizens 18 and older reported voting in the 2008 presidential election. Sixty-two percent of their male counterparts cast a ballot. Additionally, 73 percent of female citizens reported being registered to vote.

All data are from the U.S. Census Bureau.
