Voxeo Announces Prophecy 11 - Adds HD Audio, IPv6 And Fax To Communications Applications

New York, NY, Aug 09, 2011 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Voxeo, the leading provider of Unlocked Communications(TM), today announced the release of Prophecy 11 enabling service providers and enterprises to support HD audio phone calls, to migrate their networks to IPv6 and to support fax as another channel of customer interaction. Available for free download, companies can immediately start creating applications that leave the restrictions of the traditional phone network behind to create richer customer experiences leading to increased customer loyalty and improved productivity.

HD / WIDEBAND AUDIO The traditional phone network only transmits a narrow range of sound frequencies resulting in the "phone" sound that we are accustomed to hearing. With IP communications, companies can now use HD audio, also called "wideband", to establish far better sounding phone calls to applications and contact centers. Popularized in the consumer space by Skype, HD audio gives the caller the feeling of "being there" with the other people on the call.

Callers experience less fatigue and are able to better understand the agent or application with whom they are interacting. Conference calls, too, are much clearer with wideband connections. On the application side, HD audio enables far greater accuracy for speech recognition, voice biometrics and transcription engines.

"We want our customers to be able to deliver the best possible user experience to their customers," said Voxeo CEO Jonathan Taylor. "Companies can now break the shackles of 100 years of legacy telephony and truly gain the benefit of today's networks. The sound quality of HD audio is truly amazing." Voxeo Prophecy 11 supports the industry's leading HD audio codecs, including G.722, AMR-Wideband (G.722.2) and Speex.

IPv6 Over the next few years companies looking to expand their operations will need to look at how they can migrate their networks and applications to IPv6. Voxeo's Prophecy 11 includes native IPv6 support, allowing any communication application to be deployed into an IPv6 network.

"With the impending depletion of IPv4 addresses, companies are starting to look now at how they can move their infrastructure to IPv6," stated RJ Auburn, Voxeo's CTO. "We are delighted to roll out the industry's first application platform fully supporting IPv6 for communications apps." FAX Over the past few years, Voxeo has enabled companies to create applications that interact with customers over such channels as voice, text messaging (SMS), instant messaging and social networks like Twitter. With Prophecy 11, Voxeo now adds the ability to receive faxes and send outbound faxes as an additional communication channel using the industry standard T.38 protocol.

A HISTORY OF FIRSTS Prophecy is Voxeo's platform for creating communications applications using industry standards such as VoiceXML and CCXML. Over 200,000 developers have created everything from interactive voice response (IVR) apps, large-scale outbound notification apps, customer surveys, and voice verification systems to conferencing solutions, website games and group applications on Facebook. Prophecy was the first application platform to support VoiceXML, the first to support CCXML, the first to be natively based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and now the first to support HD audio and IPv6. Prophecy is available in Voxeo's hosted cloud, for on-premise/private cloud installation and for hybrid cloud deployments.
