(AME Info (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aug. 08--APPLE RELEASES IOS 5 BETA 5 TO DEVELOPERS: Apple has released to developers the fifth beta version of iOS 5, the upcoming OS of the company, two weeks after the launch of the iOS 5 Beta 4, PC Magazine has reported. There are no major new features added to the Beta's release notes, but Apple appears to have used iOS 5 Beta 5 to fix a number of preexisting features and quirks from previous releases.

ANTISEC HACKERS RELEASE 10GB OF DATA FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES: Hackers associated with the AntiSec group, formed by members of Anonymous and recently disbanded hacker group LulzSec, have released more than 10GB of information from 70 different law enforcement agencies across the US, PC Magazine has reported. The leakers released the data dump as retaliation for recent US and UK arrests of alleged AntiSec members. The hack was allegedly carried out following an initial breach of a server owned by the company Brooks-Jeffrey Marketing, which hosts various sheriffs' association sites.

INTEL TO RETIRE OLD CPUS: Intel has announced that plans to discontinue within around one year three older CPUs that were built using the 45nm and 32nm production process. The chips affected by this change are the Core i5-760, the Core i5-655K and the Core i7-875K, all of these being replaced by newer processors based on the Sandy Bridge architecture. The Core i5-760 and Core i7-875K processors are based on the Lynnfield architecture introduced by Intel in September of 2009, and were the first of the company's CPUs to integrate a PCI Express controller.
