BRIEF: TV problems prompt Methuen City Council to reschedule meeting

METHUEN, Aug 02, 2011 (The Eagle-Tribune - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Problems with the city's local access television stations prompted the City Council last night to reschedule its regular meeting.

Councilors met for about 50 minutes before unanimously voting to recess the meeting to a later date, after learning the video feed was not working on the local access stations.

The problems are the result of renovation work at Methuen High School.

Superintendent Judith Scannell told councilors the local government and education channels were scheduled to be off air for several days, but that the work was taking longer than expected.

Councilors did not vote on any agenda items. They only issued certificates to several residents and solicited comment from the public before calling off the rest of the meeting.

A new date for the meeting had not yet been scheduled as of last night.
