Symantec Greater China Operating Revenue to Double in 3 Yrs


BEIJING, Jul 29, 2011 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Symantec Corporation (NASDAQ: SYMC) Vice President and Greater China Region President Andy Wu said during an interview that the business in the Greater China Region has grown at a very fast pace and the operating revenue is predicted to grow 100% in the following three years.

Symantec, with very clear market position and strategy, provides information security protection for people and information. Currently, all companies are troubled with information security problems, such as hackers, virus attacks, and information leakage, said Andy Wu, adding that when the network environment is matured and all services of enterprises are provided in an online way, the protection of online ID authentication and authorization will be a new focus to be concerned.

Symantec announced the fiscal report for the first fiscal quarter of 2012, showing net operating revenue hit USD 1.653 billion, growing 15% over USD 1.433 billion in the same period of a year earlier. Net profits hit USD 172 million, growing 6% over USD 161 million in the same period of a year earlier. Earnings per share (EPS) were USD 2.2, compared with USD 2 in the same period of a year earlier.
