According to a July 20 release, this new "innovation contest" is the first of its kind that challenges federal, state and local government agencies to share the creative ways they have used digital design/CAD software to improve the performance of their agency and enhance the delivery of citizen-centric services. Focused on giving public sector organizations the opportunity to "gain recognition, foster innovation and share their achievements across the government community," the program will honor winners at an award luncheon and showcase winning entries at www.acronymonline.org and in the media. "Digital design is changing the business of government from rural towns and cities to the heart of Washington, D.C.," said Caron Beesley, Editor, [acronym] Magazine. "In fact, CAD-based visualization and simulation tools play a key role in the planning, design, construction and management of key infrastructure projects and the many programs and services that the public expects."
