USCBP Certifies Four Soft's eCustoms Application 4S eCustoms 'U.S. Edition' [Professional Services Close - Up]

(Professional Services Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Four Soft (4S), a global company offering software solutions for the logistics and transportation industry, announced that its global Customs Compliance application 4S eCustoms has been officially certified by the U.S. Customs & Border Protection (USCBP).

This certification has been successfully processed through Four Soft USA, Inc., a subsidiary of Four Soft Limited in India.

According to CBP, any software application that interfaces with the U.S. Customs & Border Protection ABI application to file Customs entries must pass a certification test defined by CBP. For software vendors, this entails a rigorous exercise that tests both the software and the user to apply the complex business and regulatory rules to report the value, origin, duty obligations, and other details for 100 importation scenarios.

Rajshekhar Roy, CEO, Four Soft, said, "We are excited to begin this new fiscal year with our 4S eCustoms application being certified after passing stringent Customs Clearance requirements set by the US Customs. This product release and Certification completes our product suite for the US market and will help us penetrate the market significantly in this financial year. We already have three clients scheduled to deploy 4S eCustoms operationally this July. There is also a strong pipeline for this product which we will now follow through on." Cathy Clausen, Sr. General Manager of Client Services, who completed the testing, said, "We have the knowledge and experience to know when a transaction is right, but we did not want to cut corners, and we made this achievement a key milestone in our project plan." She further added, "The history with our legacy application was a huge advantage, but to tie that functionality to our existing eCustoms suite that files entries in Canada, India, Singapore, and Europe with the same basic flow and user experience was an exciting challenge and what makes the application uniquely Four Soft's." Four Soft completed "the Long test", as CBP calls it on June 21. As a long time ABI vendor, Four Soft was not actually required to complete the full, rigorous test a second time, but the team saw this as an opportunity to more fully vet the new offering.

"The eCustoms US edition is a very strong addition to our global eCustoms platform," added Phil Pearse, Four Soft's Functional Design Architect for the project. "The US Customs clearance market is certainly one of the most demanding and sophisticated in the world and the whole eCustoms team has worked wonders to build the application so quickly - I don't think anyone has ever designed, built, and successfully tested a US Customs ABI system in less than one year, and that is exactly what we have just accomplished."
