BRIEF: Lynchburg libraries to close for upgrades


Jul 29, 2011 (The News & Advance - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The Lynchburg Public Library, located at 2315 Memorial Ave., and its branch location in City Hall, 900 Church St., will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 9 for a computer software upgrade. Both locations will reopen on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 9:30 a.m.

No materials will be due and no fines will be charged on Aug. 9 and 10. Access to the library's catalog will not be available at the library or from the web site on these days, and users will not be able to search the database of holdings, place requests for specific titles, or check their accounts.

The library's online resources, e-books, Mango, Learning Express, Tumblebook and FINDITVA, will be accessible at all times from the library's website, www.lynchburgva.gov/publiclibrary.


The libraries' book drops will be open for returns on Tuesday.
