BRIEF: Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week: Police seek suspect in Taco Bell robberyJul 29, 2011 (El Paso Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Police are searching for a suspect in a violent robbery of a West Side fast food restaurant last month. The robbery is being featured as this week's Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week. Police said at about 1 a.m. on June 15, a man broke the glass front door of the Taco Bell at 7410 Remcon after the restaurant had closed. As employees were walking into an office to count the day's receipts, the man jumped on top of a counter, aimed a black handgun at them and demanded money. He then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. Witnesses described the man as about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds with a thin build. He was last seen wearing glasses and a pair of goggles around his neck, a long-sleeve button-up shirt, blue jeans, a black snow hat, a surgeon's mask and gloves. He had a medium to dark complexion and dark eyes. Anyone with information on the robber is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 566-8477, or submit a tip online at www.crimestoppersofelpaso.org. Tipsters will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward if their tip leads to an arrest.
